FAQ

SOME COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CBD AND CFH, LTD.

- RESOURCE FOR OUR RETAIL AND PRIVATE LABEL CLIENTS -

1.  What is the main difference between our oils and other producers?

CFH, Ltd. is a bioscience company that produces Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil.   CFH’s difference results from its genetic and plant science research foundation and focus on delivering products that can be used therapeutically.   CFH provides standardization, product consistency and traceability from the DNA of the genetics through the extraction of the oil.  Our Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil includes the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils & amino acids that result in increased efficacy.

CFH, Ltd.’s CBD Tincture is:

2.  How is marijuana different from Hemp/CBD?

Both Hemp and Marijuana come from the same plant family, Cannabis Sativa.

The presence of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) differentiates Hemp from Marijuana.

THC is the psychotropic cannabinoid not currently legal in all 50 states.

According to Federal Regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014, the Obama Administration determined hemp plants that contain less than .03% THC as legal, which in turn makes cannabinoids, including Cannabidiol (CBD) extracted from hemp legal, as well.

The growing, processing, and selling of hemp extracts, including CBD oil is done around the world.  It is important to note that Hemp has been used around the world for centuries for Hemp seed oil and industrial fiber for rope, clothes and other products.  These products from around the world are much lower in CBD.  The higher concentrated that can be used therapeutically is grown in the largest quantities in the U.S., with Colorado producing over 50% of the total volume in the U.S.

3.   How is the product safety & quality tested?

Every extracted batch of Full Spectrum Hemp Flower oil is tested for cannabinoid and terpene content, which is available to customers for all products.  For CFH’s  internal quality assurance program, we also run residual solvent, pesticides, mycotoxin and heavy metal tests.  These tests are very important because the Hemp plant is a bioremediator.  This means that the hemp plant will pull any of the above compounds from the soil and accumulate them in the plant.  The Hemp plant is used in many Superfund sites to remediate the soil.   Consumers should understand where the Hemp was grown, how it was grown and know what kind of testing that specific producer is conducting to insure safety.  It is always best to purchase products that include only Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil that has been grown from a single location and has conducted in depth analysis like those that CFH, Ltd. performs.

ProVerde Labs, one of the highly respected CBD analytical labs has this quote on their website:   http://www.proverdelabs.com/Services-Home/cbd

“Unfortunately, many of the hemp-based products sold on the market have little to no Cannabidiol (CBD), falling far short of the product label claims.”

NOT ALL CBD PRODUCTS ARE THE SAME.

4.  Are there many different CBD Hemp Oil Varieties?

There a number of industrial hemp varieties around the world.  These however, have very minimal CBD content as they are used for industrial purposes, not therapeutic purposes.   In the U.S. the number of varieties that have been developed through a genetic research and development effort is minimal.  This results in limited predictability and consistency in the cannabinoid and terpene profiles that are produced.  A consumer of a CBD product can have a higher probability of getting a consistent product by knowing the actual variety that was used to produce the Full Spectrum Flower Oil and knowing if the genetic of the variety have been developed through a scientific genetics research program.

5.  How is the product grown?

If you are purchasing CBD products that have been grown from varieties that have been developed through a scientific genetic research program, you should also be assured that the production methodology has been researched specifically for the expression of the characteristics of that variety.  CFH, Ltd. conducts production research on fertility, plant density, plant & harvesting date, solar radiation (sunlight) and measures many other environmental factors.  This is done to insure standardization of the product process to the product you purchase will be consistent.  Purchasing products made from a science based Hemp company that has been grown in a single location will insure product consistency for the consumer.

6.  What exactly is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic chemical compound found in the highest concentrations and purity in the Hemp flower.  Far lower concentrations of CBD are found in the stems, leaves and stalks of industrial hemp or the cannabis plant.

CBD is not found within the seed.  Products made using Hemp Seed oil are going to contain certain fatty acids that are beneficial nutritionally, however, they will not have a therapeutic effect.

Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and one of the most abundant molecules in a group of unique chemicals called cannabinoids.  Cannabinoids are fatty compounds that play important roles in the human body’s central nervous system and immune system.  Cannabinoids are also produced by other plants and our own human body.

7.   How does CDB work?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is non-psychoactive and affects the body by triggering the receptors of the endocannabinoid system within our brain and nervous system that regulate various systems within the human body.  Results are dependent on dosage and specific purpose for using CBD.

8.  Is the hemp grown outdoors or indoors?

CFH, Ltd.’s Colorado farm includes both indoor greenhouse and outdoor farm stages of the growing and production process.

9.  What is Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil?

Our Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil includes all of the full spectrum cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils & amino acids that result in increased efficacy.   Studies in Israel find the use of full spectrum hemp flower oil to be more effective in supporting many health related issues than using individual molecules, like isolate alone to make a tincture.  The synergistic effect of cannabinoids, terpenes, other phyto-chemicals that the Hemp plant produces results in a more therapeutically effective product.

10.  What are the benefits of CBD oil and what amount of CBD should I take?

Benefits of the use of CBD oil are associated with its ability to affect the body by triggering the receptors of the endocannabinoid system within the human body’s brain and nervous system.

Early research has shown that CBD can be used as a neuroprotective, an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, antidepressant, analgesic, anticonvulsant, antipsychotic, antibiotic among other uses.

Each person’s reason for using CBD is different, as is each person’s body and unique health conditions that must be considered.  We always recommend a consultation with your doctor or health care professional to determine the right amount for you.

Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil CBD Tincture’s Suggested Use:

Dosing of CBD is dependent upon the Active CBD concentration in the product.  Starting with a lower dose and slowly increasing your dose to find your optimum benefit, is the best approach.  For maximum absorption, hold under tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing, as the absorption through the tissue of the mouth gets into the blood stream more rapidly.

11.  Does your product contain Extra Virgin Olive oil or other ingredients?

Our product from CFH, Ltd. contains only Full Spectrum Hemp FLOWER Oil and MCT Oil, which is the Medium Chain Triglyceride derived from coconut oil.

12.  Is there a full traceability?

Yes, CFH, Ltd.’s CBD Tincture comes with full traceability from “Farm to Formulator” including a third party lab.  CFH, Ltd. is a bioscience company that tracks and accumulates data all the way from DNA through the extracted oil ingredient that goes into the product.

13.  How much CBD is in the product?

CFH, Ltd.’s CBD Tincture provides 10mg/ml and is currently available in 30ml, 50ml and 60ml bottles.

CFH's Topical Pain Cream provides 625mg of CBD in a 2 oz. container.

It is important when comparing CBD products that the concentration of active CBD is clearly defined.   Many CBD products on the market today do not indicate “Active CBD”.

14.  Will CBD oil get me high?

No. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive of the cannabis plant and thus, does not provide a “high” associated with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

15.  Are CBD product safe?

Yes.  There is no “high” effect with CBD and a significant decrease in symptoms such as reduction of pain and anxiety among other benefits have been reported.  To date it appears that CBD and other cannabinoids are much safer than some of the current pharmaceutical products on the market.   There are no side effects and there have been no reported deaths attributed to the use of CBD.

16.  What is Full Spectrum CO2 extraction?

Full Spectrum CO2 Extraction from CFH, Ltd.’s organically grown Colorado Hemp, allows for the preservation of full spectrum cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils & amino acids that result in increased efficacy of the product.

A series of scientific studies revealing this increased efficacy has come to be known as the “Entourage Effect”.  The “Entourage Effect” is a term first used in the late 1990’s by two Israeli scientists when their research revealed the benefit of using a full spectrum of all of the compounds found in hemp rather than using only single compound extracts.

17.  Is CBD legal?

Yes.

18.  Can CBD show up in drug tests?

As with any product made from hemp, there is a small chance that using a CBD product can lead to a positive drug test.  If this is a major concern, please be sure to discuss use of CBD with your doctor, health care professional, or employer before use.

19.    What should I look for, or ask my supplier, when purchasing a CBD product?

a)  What is the source of the CBD?

b)  Is it Full Spectrum Hemp FLOWER Oil, or is it made from stalks, stem, leaves or seeds?  Is it made with isolate (a single molecule that will not provide the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids)?

c)  Was the CBD from a single source or multiple sources where it can not be traced back to the farm?   Traceability and single source is important for product consistency.

d)  What was the hemp variety used to produce the CBD?    Knowing the variety and that it is made from a single variety can help insure that you get the same cannabinoid, terpene and flavonoid profile consistently.

e)  What is the “Active CBD” concentration in the product?   Without knowing this it will be very hard to determine the actual CBD dose you will receive.
