FAQs

How is marijuana different from Hemp/CBD?

The amount of THC differentiates hemp from marijuana. THC is the psychotropic cannabinoid not currently legal in all 50 states. Anything less than 0.3% THC (as found in our full spectrum products) is designated as hemp. The trace amounts of THC present in full spectrum hemp products are not enough to be intoxicating or induce a high.

What exactly is CBD (Cannabidiol)?

CBD is an organic chemical compound found in the Hemp Plant, with the highest concentrations and purity occurring in the Hemp Flower. Cannabidiol is a non-psychotropic cannabinoid and one of the most abundant molecules in a group of unique chemicals called phytocannabinoids.

How does CBD work?

CBD interacts with the Endocannabinoid system. The ECS is the master regulating system of the body and it controls all other systems. The ECS serves to re-balance the body and maintain homeostasis.

What is Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil?

Full spectrum includes all of the cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils & amino acids that work together for increased efficacy. The synergy of these components results in a more therapeutically effective product. All constituents need to be present in their natural proportions, unadulterated by further refinement to be considered a true full spectrum.

What are the benefits of CBD Oil?

Early Research indicates CBD can be used as a neuroprotective, an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), antidepressant, analgesic (pain relief), anticonvulsant, antipsychotic, and antibiotic, among other uses.

What amount of CBD should I take?

Consult a doctor or healthcare professional to determine the right amount for you. Generally start with a lower dose and increase slowly and incrementally to find the optimal dose.

Will CBD oil get me high?

No. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychotropic cannabinoid and thus, does not provide a “high” associated with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Are CBD products safe?

Yes. There is no “high” effect and side effects are rare, and are historically mild if they occur, such as irritability, nausea, or fatigue. We recommended consulting a healthcare professional if you have concerns or questions relating to your individual circumstances or are taking CBD alongside additional medication. There have been no reported deaths attributed to the use of CBD.

Is CBD legal?

Yes.

What should I look for, or ask my supplier, when purchasing a CBD product?

  1. What is the source of the CBD?
  2. Is it Full Spectrum Hemp Flower Oil, isolate, or broad spectrum?
  3. Traceability? Is the raw material coming from a single source or multiple sources? Lack of traceability will lead to a lack of consistency in the product.
  4. What was the hemp variety used to produce the CBD? Important to note if it’s a medicinal/therapeutic strain or industrial. A single variety will add to consistency.
  5. How much CBD per serving in the product?

Are there many different CBD Hemp Oil Varieties?

Yes. The variety of the oil depends on the variety of the plant, and there are several different varieties depending on the desired use of the plant. Some hemp strains are designed for industrial use, made into rope, paper, textiles, and biofuel, just to name a few. Hemp can also be used as a bioremediator. At CFH, we analyze genetics and focus on our plants to ensure that they are the best possible strain to maximize the health benefits of the plant. By genetically evaluating and growing our hemp on our privately owned farm, we make sure we end up with the highest quality possible Hemp Oil.

What does CFH Stand for?

Crops for Health.

Is Whole Plant better than flower only?

No. Whole plant extract contains chlorophyll and other plant metabolites which compromise the quality and efficacy of the finished product.

Will our products show up on drug screening?

Depending on the specific nature of the test, there is a possibility for a positive test, or a false positive test. If this is a concern, consult your employer regarding CBD usage.

What extraction method does your company use?

CO2 single source extraction.

What is Full Spectrum CO2 extraction?

CO2 extraction allows for the preservation of the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils, and amino acids that result in increased efficacy.

What is the origin of your raw material?

All of our raw material comes from our privately owned 1100 acre farm in Colorado.

Is your farm/are your products certified organic?

The CFH farm is a USDA certified organic farm. We are currently undergoing the process of having each of our products organic certified. CFH products have very few other ingredients added & are simple, clean, healthy & effective.

Are you able to provide a COA (certificate of analysis)?

Yes. Our 3rd party COA’s include potency and complete cannabinoid and terpene profiles, as well as testing for mold, heavy metals, foreign matter, pesticides, mycotoxins, microbials and solvents.

If you have to avoid grapefruit with your medication, do you have to avoid CBD too?

Like grapefruit, CBD is an inhibitor of some of the CYP450 enzymes. This system of enzymes in the liver metabolizes about 25% of all drugs. Speak with a pharmacist or doctor well versed in CBD when looking to combine it with medications.

What differentiates our oils from other producers?

The CFH difference results from our genetic and plant science research foundation and focus on delivering therapeutic products. We provide standardization, product consistency and traceability from the DNA of the genetics through to the shipment of the final product. Our oil is full spectrum for maximum efficacy.

Our CBD tincture is not from seeds, stems, leaves or stalks. It’s not from hemp seed oil or fractionated isolate.

CFH, Ltd’s Full Spectrum Hemp Extract is:

  • Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment – Health Certified
  • Grown with natural organic production practices
  • Pesticide, herbicide and GMO free

How is the product safety & quality tested?

Every batch is tested for cannabinoid and terpene content. Our COA’s include heavy metals, solvents, pesticides, mold and mycotoxins, microbials, and foreign matter. These tests are important because hemp is a bioremediator. Customers should understand where the hemp was grown, how it was grown, and what kind of specific testing the producer is conducting to insure safety. “Unfortunately, many of the hemp-based products sold on the market have little to no Cannabidiol (CBD), falling far short of the product label claims.” http://proverdelabs.com/Services-Home/cbd

NOT ALL CBD PRODUCTS ARE THE SAME.

How is the product grown?

The product is grown from a seed, to a clone, to a greenhouse, to outside in our field with USDA certified organic fertilizer. CFH, Ltd. conducts production research on fertility, plant density, plant and harvesting date, solar radiation and other environmental factors. Evaluations are made based on temperature, humidity, air circulation, photoperiod, plant density and various nutrient requirements at various stages of growth, among many other determinants. Our hemp is evaluated through the process of chromatography to indicate levels of cannabinoids present throughout the growing cycle. Our growing processes ensure standardization and consistency of the final product.

Is the hemp grown indoors or outdoors?

CFH, LTD’s Colorado farm includes both indoor greenhouses and outdoor farm stages of the growing and production process.

Is there full traceability?

Yes. Our products come with full traceability from “Farm to Formulator”.

In regards to James & James, will drinking several seltzers make me feel inebriated?

James & James is not intended to inebriate. However, effects can be quite subjective. CBD has a relaxation effect, and 75mg-100mg of fast acting CBD (the amount of 3-4 James & James Seltzers) could make one feel quite relaxed, or even drowsy. Research has shown that CBD does not impair reflexes or cognitive function the way that alcohol does.

Is this beverage safe for those under 18?

Yes. CBD (as Epidiolex – CBD isolate) is safely used in children as young as 1 year of age up to a dose of 50 mg/kg per day.

How does CBD interact with Alcohol?

Alcohol increases the absorption of CBD; consuming CBD with alcohol will double the amount of CBD that is absorbed. However, combining CBD with alcohol does not speed up the absorption of alcohol or CBD, it simply increases the total amount of CBD absorbed into the body.

James and James (CBD) provides antioxidant benefits to help neutralize toxins generated by alcohol consumption, which can help mitigate the symptoms of a hangover.

CBD boosts levels of anandamide in our system, and this endocannabinoid also offers protection for the liver. The prolonged action of anandamide provided by the CBD in J&J helps support a healthy liver when one chooses to consume alcohol. Go with a mixer that comes with a bona fide upside!
